Hi! Here’s just a little backstory on me and why I love to take photos. My interest in photography started young with my mom’s old manual canon and developing images in a dark room, and from there has transitioned into the digital age with my wonderful (but heavy) DSLR and photoshop. However, this was just a hobby for me since I was pursuing my career as a ballet dancer. My time as a professional dancer has mostly taken place as a member of American Repertory Ballet, where I spent seven seasons. Unfortunately, injury and consequent surgeries kept me off my feet and out of the ballet studio for a pretty long stretch of time, but gave me the opportunity to pick up my camera and focus on a different aspect of my life. Naturally, I ended up photographing a lot of dancers, but I’ve learned that the reason I love to be behind the camera is to capture people, faces, body language and the personality that comes through in a still image. I’m still learning and growing in all aspects of my life and most certainly as a photographer. I’m happy to have you witness it and hopefully be a part of it!
